@tA Current experience with the SME's we sysadm, nginx wins hands down for documentation, "we did exactly that" blogs, reverse proxy, static page loading, and .. you get the drift. Can't comment on scaling, 'cos we're smol. But at this end of the size picture, it's way easier to deal with than Apache or *shudders* IIS for any web appy stuff.

@tA Houston we have a problem. Our admin considered their own behaviour so egregious, they blocked themselves.

@natecull Not the "right" answer but we'd maybe opt for therequire('.\my-foo-subfile') syntax, it just fits more cleanly if you're not going to go through the utterly terrifying, abstract everything into namespaces process. No toolchain we've ever met likes rigorous namespaces anyway.Very personal opinion, keystrokes as a development metric always fucks with the architecture.

@natecull The only answer we've come up with is to have an external usage alias to a random, say 64bit, key, but that requires a database unless you're going to implement the mapping within the filesystem as metadata, but that needs faffing with the filesystem and look what happens, say with BTRFS, which was approaching this usability, but then goog decided to mess with EXT4 instead and ... it all goes to hell in a handcart.

@natecull This level of indirection really has to implement serialisation of memory to nonvolatile seamlessly. IBM got helluva close with the S/36 - AS/400 progression but it was one of those great ideas that wasn't mainstreamy enough.
