Lot of fun tonight! #ham short wave listening after I moved to a elevated and isolated place for a better signal reception. The #trike (3 wheels #recumbent bike) is awesome for this because I was able to use my laptop while sitting comfortably in my seat, water at hand.I did meet NOBODY while staying at this place for 2 hours :DI have been able to record radios in the 15, 12 and 10 meters bands and also in the 70cm band using a #sdr on #linux Skywave distro (work out of the box)

Looking for feedback for Sigma cycle computer models "Rox" or "Pure GPS"Are the recorded data available through the mass storage when you connect it in USB or do you absolutely need the software "Sigma data center"?For the "Rox 12.0" they say there is a mass device in which you can drop GPX files, but it's not clear if you can retrieve the data from it the same way.I'd like a device more precise than my smartphone but I don't want to rely on proprietary software...Boost welcome

@trokhymchuk it works fine on all my systems :flan_think: We need more people for supporting more hardware, it's all about this.#Linux kernel has 1500 people working on it every month (mostly paid developer), #OpenBSD has 150 different developers involved on a 6 months time frame to produce a release. This include kernel development + base system + all the packages.I think, considering the small team, that OpenBSD does an amazing job being usable on a daily basis on modern laptops!

Today I found the game Shapez.io, an #opensource Factorio like game https://github.com/tobspr/shapez.io/https://tobspr.itch.io/shapezioAfter hours of fiddling on #openbsd with node, npm and yarn, fixing weird bugs and reporting issue (I have no idea how to report other weirds things), you can play the full open source version for free at : https://perso.pw/shapez.io/ (requires a webkit browser to work fine)You can even download the tarball containing the static files to serve it yourself! https://perso.pw/shapez.io/shapez.io.tar.gz

Playing with #Resynthesizer, a #gimp plugin to delete a part of the picture and filling it with the surrounding.I did speed up the video and cut some parts so it's very small and emphasis on the essential :flan_thumbs: #OpenBSD port of it sent by espie@

Interesting talk by Peter N. M. Hansteen « OpenBSD 6.8 and you » which I find to be a very nice introduction explaining everyone what #OpenBSD is.Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFZNxwBk7H8Slides: https://home.nuug.no/~peter/openbsd_and_you_68/#1via https://undeadly.org/cgi?action=article;sid=20201109055713via https://www.dragonflydigest.com/2020/11/14/25150.html

AGAINnpm program downloading binaries over the internet. It Fails on OpenBSD because it assumes a openbsd-x64.tar.gz file is available on a remote server. Even if it was there, OpenBSD breaks ABI every few months so this is a poor solution. When you use npm, installing a compiler is peanut, why download a binary from the internet???node-pre-gyp ERR! stack Error: 404 status code downloading tarball https://node-webrtc.s3.amazonaws.com/wrtc/v0.4.6/Release/openbsd-x64.tar.gzNO KIDDING:flan_facepalm: :flan_facepalm: :flan_molotov:

Browsing the #Gemini and #Gopher spaces using Lagrange [1] feel SO NICE. The user experience of Lagrange is really amazing. :flan_ooh: #openbsd users can use my port to install it [2][1] : https://github.com/skyjake/lagrange[2] : https://marc.info/?l=openbsd-ports&m=160719283213026&w=2

Is there any interest for a how-to explaining the deployment of Cryptpad [1] under OpenBSD?Cryptpad is an office web suite featuring Word processor, Spreadsheets, presentations, poll code and whiteboard, each of these allow real time collaboration with other people.Documents can be stored on the server securely and shared using an access list. You can have a preview at [2][1]: https://github.com/xwiki-labs/cryptpad[2]: https://cryptpad.fr/

I read a lot of hate articles about the #gemini protocol.I don't understand this hate. What's wrong with defining a new protocol? It seems to be a fun exercise.Maybe gemini is going nowhere and will be forgotten next year, but if you don't care about this, don't discriminate the work done.A criticism I often read is gemini shouldn't exist, that we should work on lighter web browsers and lighter blogs. We could, but couldn't people write a new protocol?Should we add MORE specs to http??

I am very happy to introduce you to my cooking specialty: « Le sandwich au pain et ses cornichons au poivre ».Aka «Bread sandwdich and its pickles with peppers».It consists into 2 slices of one kind of bread surrounding a different bread. As for the pickles, they are enhanced with pepper. It started as a regular joke at work, because once I ate a bread sandwich, having only bread at home. But this can be well prepared like a real dish. Today I added the pickles/pepper nonsense, fits well!
