@tomasino @gemlog @cat Abuses of authority from positions of power in "communities" which go on and on about how much better they are than commercial alternatives *are* worth making a fuss about. Especially if Cat's mountpoint was summarily removed. SDF has a bad problem with mistreating what should be its most valuable users - those who create world-visible content. The phloggers know what I'm talking about. Is this spreading to aNONradio DJs too?

@tomasino There is actually a movement to eliminate DST in Finland, which seems to be gathering steam. I am not sure if the plan is to permanently stick to the current winter or summer times.

@cdmnky Thanks for this! I should have done some more careful research of my own first, they actually sound very weird and non-standard, and them having some private key I can't access is pretty much a dealbreaker.

@cdmnky Tbh, I really just want bog standard SMTP/IMAP/POP mail with good SSL certs, for less money than spinning up my own very low-spec VPS, from somewhere that isn't going to do any datamining on my emails, is not likely to disappear without a trace in the near future, and preferably isn't explicitly branded with some sort of radical politics.

The admin(s) of SDF's Mastodon instance have recently been banning the accounts of people making critical, but civil, comments about SDF.This is totally unacceptable and deeply disappointing.But, the good news is that federated protocols make it very easy to walk away from this kind of nonsense without losing contact with people.So, I am now solderpunk@tilde.zone! @snowdusk_ @Greg I don't think so. I haven't bothered because I don't expect anything to be achieved via BBOARD. Look how well it works when there are problems with Gopher or VOIP. The most likely outcome is that somebody would decide to make fun of me in HURTDESK.
