Ladybird from what I've heard is far more along in development and Servo has been touched by wokezilla before eventually being curated by another group.@thatbrickster@shitposter.world

From what I recall though, they've been working on it as late as 2018 with various forks for VR and so on.@thatbrickster@shitposter.world

I do get this is in response to your viewers bothering the people behind the projects you cover, something I've come to dub "The Lunduke effect". But do keep in mind that not everyone participating will be there to flame and by encouraging maintainers to simply ban people rather than triage good faith interaction from the bad. You'll end up reinforcing the sort of mentality you'll find in NixOS and GNOME where people assume the worst and ban first then ask questions later.@BrodieOnLinux@mstdn.social

Gone ahead and stirred the pot some more. Though in all seriousness, I do think we should be considering the decentralisation of Wayland development moving forward.#Wayland, #X11, #Linux, #FOSS, #OpenSource. @BrodieOnLinux@mstdn.social

Decentralisation will mean that Wayland protocols can exist independently of GNOME and Weston, finding their way into the compositors of the other desktop environments and window managers that may want that functionality. It is how the global positioning protocol should have been handled in the first place. That way, there is quantifiable and irrefutable proof that the implementation of the protocol works as intended which would make bikeshedding the protocol a lot more difficult to justify in practice.@BrodieOnLinux@mstdn.social

The uncanny valley is defined as something that closely resembles something we recognise but is ever so slightly off. It is that disparity in our perception that gives off this unnerving feeling. Ultimately comes down to our perception of the world and the subversion of something we otherwise recognise as or understand.@Jazzcraft@social.xenofem.me @Cara@miruku.cafe

This is why people generally recommend that you don't use LLMs for troubleshooting Nix issues. Then you have to either deal with the aforementioned power jannies in Matrix or hang out with the cooler kids in the Discord.@phnt@fluffytail.org @apropos@fsebugoutzone.org

Would've probably done that already if I had the hardware of it. Compiling shit from source on a Steam Deck is already miserable as it is on NixOS with Jovian Experiments.CC: @rose@snac.pinkro.se@phnt@fluffytail.org

Seven hands down. Though, that was when you started to see the telemetry of modern Windows start to sneak its way in. Vista if you want the aesthetic of Windows 7 without it.Don't worry, most modern machines can now run it.@hispanicweeb@mai.waifuism.life

Switching from Windows to anything else is becoming less of a suggestion and more of a necessity.Hell, even suggesting MacOS would be better at this point than having anyone else suffer a moment longer using Windows.@Hyperhidrosis@shitposter.world

Even if you did for whatever reason want the AI slop Microsoft is forcing on people, you can just setup a docker container with SearXG and a local LLM model and effectively get feature parity with what you have on Windows or with Google Search but more privacy respecting by default.@Hyperhidrosis@shitposter.world
