some context: currently running Debian stable. i like the Debian project's ethos, but i really am over systemd (your commentary on this is not required, thank you). *BSD entered the chat only recently. i have used Devuan before (within the past 3 years); i have used slackware before (about 20 years ago); i have never used any BSD as a primary driver.

@ParadeGrotesque interesting. you would take #slackware over #FreeBSD while recommending #OpenBSD? i had been considering #OpenBSD, but (candidly) found the install somewhat intimidating when tinkering with it on a VM.

@Ricardus i used to rely on NPR heavily for news and info, but not for a few years now. it’s almost nefarious. Fox News and the like have a blatant bias. NPR and NYT put up a front of serious and professional reporting, but ultimately serve the same corporate overlords. hell, the Koch brothers sponsor NPR.

@RL_Dane @brandont @taywee @benjaminhollon @hyde can y’all enlighten me on why one might change to dvorak? beyond “street” (er, um, information superhighway) cred. allegedly more efficient, but that can only be true if you’re practiced in using it. and i’ve never encountered one in the wild (US, Canada, and UK). so i enter a nee workplace and it’s basically guaranteed QWERTY.
