Is anybody on the #Fediverse participating in or at least looking into the new #W3C group on #interoperability ?See https://interop-remedies-cg.github.io/ and https://socialhub.activitypub.rocks/t/interoperability-remedies-community-group/2117Would be nice to make sure that they are well aware of existing protocols, concepts, and ecosystems.#ActivityPub of course but also nomadic identity in #Zot.Plus it would be good to show them how/that it works in practice.

Updating #Signal this morning: ah, they have added stickers to raise awareness about the importance of donations, that's a good idea!*checks how donations work*Donate via GPay... Right... 🤦‍♂️

Hi there fedizens, I'm asking again for your help in these dark times: with the latest mobile #Firefox (well #Fennec) update to 95.1, I am no longer able to access the menu of addons such as #NoScript or #uBlockBefore, I would just click on the hamburger menu (3 vertical dots), click on addons and this would enable me to acces each addon's menu/settings for the current page. No more.Any idea how to fix this?#AskFedi #AskMastodon #FediQuestion #MastoQuestion #android #LineageOS

To the #LinuxPhones crowd on Fedi, I'm looking for help with #dbus calls on #PlasmaMobile.Trying to wake the #PinePhone using qdbus and PowerDevil but apparently qdbus is not installed/in path.Context: I'm trying to regularly wake up the phone to check emails and IMs.For those on #ManjaroARM forum, you can also answer there: https://forum.manjaro.org/t/dbus-wake-up-pinephone-regularly-to-check-email-and-ims/95530

Just in time for the new year, I made a repo on #Codeberg with the code I'm currently using to wake up my #PinePhone periodically and check emails and IMs.https://codeberg.org/Silmathoron/pinephone-autowakeIt's really amateur work so if you have ideas to improve it (especially regarding the interactions with manual wake-ups), please get in touch :)Should work on ManjaroARM and (I think) also on pmOS, no idea about Mobian.#LinuxPhones #TuxPhones #Phosh #PlasmaMobile

I finally ironed out the remaining known issues in my #PinePhone autowake script! It now works fine on @mobian and @ManjaroARM with both #Phosh and #PlasmaMobile.I guess it should also work fine on a #Librem5...It's purpose is to wake up the phone periodically to check emails and instant messages (since we don't have push notifications yet). And now it does not cut calls inadvertently anymore ^^"You can check it out on the @codeberg repo: https://codeberg.org/Silmathoron/pinephone-autowake #LinuxPhones

Just tried #sxmo with #postmarketOS on my #PinePhone and I'm must say that I'm quite convinced by the result!Because it's so minimal, it's super fast and the extensive gestures really become quite intuitive in a very small amount of time.I don't think pmOS has all the software I need at the moment but this really made me want to try porting whatever's still missing!I still need to test sxmo more extensively, see how well it works with phone/email notifications, etc, but it was a nice test.

@dragfyreI'm very sad with the choice of #Mastodon to promote specific user based on poor metrics rather than opting for user-agnostic discoverability tools: hashtags. As I mentioned several times, implementing hashtag-following so that these hastags populate the user home timeline would easily solve the "why is it so quiet" issue if new users were asked to enter keywords for their favorite topics...This would also avoid pushing influencers and trends onto the #Fediverse.

OK, I finally managed to find enough time and energy to adapt my script to #postmarketOS If you were looking for a way to wakeup your phone periodically to check your IMs and emails on your #PinePhone or #Librem5, you can check it out: https://codeberg.org/Silmathoron/pinephone-autowake/src/branch/pmosI'm waiting for feedback to make sure it works well before I merge it to the main branch (for systemd distros).#pmOS #LinuxPhones #tuxPhones

Hey Fedi (and especially people like @ManjaroARM and @linmob), I have a new question for you!I'm looking for a way to (somewhat) separate system installation and user account configuration on #Linux.I would want to have something like in the preinstalled #KDE images on #Pinephone, where you can set your username and password upon first boot.Use case is preinstalling Linux on a laptop while letting the user configure their account themselves upon first boot.#FediQuestion #AskFedi

To the #linuxPhone crowd here, has anyone found a CLI tool for #Signal that they are happy about?I'm also fine with something that integrates with a GUI but I would prefer to have only the CLI running all the time in the background (and giving me notifications) to limit RAM usage. There does not seem to be much available on #postmarketOS so I'm happy with answers on any platform (#Mobian, #ManjaroARM...)#PinePhone #Librem5 #tuxPhones #FediQuestion #askFedi #AskMastodon #MastoQuestion

Small question to the #mobileLinux crowd here (and especially #Mobian people on #PinePhone):since the @mobian update around June 26, USB tethering suddenly started working on PP <= 1.2 (UBPorts Edition). This was amazing news for me since I have a 1.2 and *never* managed to get the USB network working on any distro before. However, what leaves me a bit frustrated is that I've no idea what changed, what fixed it... would anyone know (or know where I could look)?#tuxPhones #linuxPhones

@appsI miss the old layout/UI, especially for posts (notably the absence of left margin on the text, below the avatar of the person who posted, and the more legible CWs)Otherwise, most things are nice in the new app ;)

@appsI think we misunderdtood one another: I liked it when there was no left margin ;)In 3.2 there is one.And I just realized that a bug was introduced for visibility: hitting send converts post visibility back to public.

Hi @apps (or anyone who knows) could you tell me what do the following three icon symbolize? The outermost ones seem obvious (follow and unfollow), but the middle one is weird... it seems to act as "follow" but I've no idea why there is a minus sign like on the unfollow... #fedilab #fediQuestion #askFedi

Are there best practices to list contributors to an open-source project?Like a basic CONTRIBUTORS file? And (how) do you differentiate between authors and contributors, especially for copyright notices in the file headers, do you use a "copyright: {package_name} authors/contributors" that refers to that author/contributor list? How does this interact with tools like a Developer Certificate of Origin?#FOSS #FLOSS #REUSE #license #fediQuestion #askFedi #DCO

Nice, @organicmaps is "getting there" on #mobileLinux! The flatpak now works properly (meaning it starts, you can download #maps and all), it's really responsive and the ability to position the toolbar at the bottom is great!Unfortunately zoom in/out with two-finger gestures is not supported so you need to double-tap on the screen to zoom in and to open the keyboard and type "-" to unzoom 😅 Still, really looking forward to using my favorite #android map on my linux phone!#OrganicMaps

Am I the only one having issues with dark mode in #Firefox since version 140 or 141?Both on Linux and Android, it seems that it does not properly pass the prefersDark information anymore...On Linux I solved it by activating the dark theme instead of the follow system theme option, but on android this does not even seem to work...#darkMode #webBrowser #ironFox #Mozilla #askFedi
