Just in time for the new year, I made a repo on #Codeberg with the code I'm currently using to wake up my #PinePhone periodically and check emails and IMs.https://codeberg.org/Silmathoron/pinephone-autowakeIt's really amateur work so if you have ideas to improve it (especially regarding the interactions with manual wake-ups), please get in touch :)Should work on ManjaroARM and (I think) also on pmOS, no idea about Mobian.#LinuxPhones #TuxPhones #Phosh #PlasmaMobile

@silmathoron Sometimes my #Pinephone running #ManjaroARM #Phosh Beta will struggle to wake up, and sometimes - quite more often actually - it will wake up on its own, with the screen staying up for who knows how long. And I have to press the power button twice to turn the screen off. When it's in my pants' front pocket, I only notice it when it becomes warm. As you can guess, it kills my battery...I didn't have this issue on postmarketOS.

@normandcYes, I also encountered this issue on old Phosh versions with ManjaroArm. It does not seem to occur with the latest beta and never occurred on any of the Plasma Mobile images I tried. The code I shared would wake it up regularly but it automatically resuspends after (by default) 30 s

@normandc Ah... that's indeed weird... what's your Pinephone version? Mine is 1.2Did you directly flash the new beta from scratch or just update to the new beta? Mine was a clean flash

@silmathoron I have the v1.2b revision. I first installed the Dev build a month ago, and reverted back to Stable when an update broke sound.

@normandc OK, maybe it's a difference between the phone versions, then...By "reverted", you mean clean flash or via pacman? If it was indeed a clean flash, then try checking/asking on manjaro forum, otherwise try the clean flash

@silmathoron I used pacman rather than do a clean flash. I've got almost everything set up as I want, MMS works well... I'm not really eager to do a clean flash. :-\

@normandcI get that, but it could ve a matter of some config files not being updated as you would expect then...

@silmathoron I know, I know... But I have a little much on my plate right now... I'll have to back everything up... And I hope I can keep my sms/mms history...One thing I did right after flashing was to change the account name to mine (using a tutorial found on the Mobian wiki). It annoys me that so far, no mobile distro allows you to define your account name at install. My name isn't manjaro or mobian or whatever... 🙄

@silmathoron thanks, but I can't figure out how to open this link on my Pinephone. Even though the link mentions that I can see a preview, I don't see any button or whatnot to do so.When I press the Continue button, I get a "Choose app to continue" page that lists Element and Fluffychat with links to Google Play Store and F-droid. I have Fractal installed. How do I open this link with it, and do I absolutely need an account?Lambda user rant here: Matrix is effing confusing. 🙄

@silmathoron I checked both "Show apps not available on my platform" and "Show experimental apps". Fractal is now listed, but I can't select it.I really, really want to like Matrix, but dammit it just seems to always tell me to fuck off. 😡

@normandc @silmathoron Not sure why you're hating on Matrix for this, as this is entirely Fractal's fault for not registering an URL handler. That said a proposal for "mxid://" based URL's was just merged to the Matrix spec so it should become easier to support it in clients in the future
