@LeneBe @mindstalk @freemo @erictopol Hazmat?! Oh good gad. Wearing a mask is no worse than putting on a hat or wearing shoes. The only two things they prevent you from doing in public are eating and putting your mouth on display. Viewing masks as temporary measures to be endured for extraordinary events instead of just basic wear for everyday life is probably why folks like you haven’t gotten used to them or bothered to find ones that are comfortable.

@futurebird Google search is broken. Full stop. The biggest problem I’ve noticed recently is that the commands for “exact phrase” and “not this” are completely borked. So a search for “glasses that work with masks” -fog -anti-fog gets you a bunch of results about anti-fog treatments and masks that work with glasses. Switching to image search can sometimes break through the noise but it’s maddening. My Google Fu is gone.

Wondering how the “are you going to wear a mask forever?!” folks are going to cope with needing reading glasses one day. Or having to be on prescription medication for a chronic condition. I’ve been wearing glasses for nearly 40 years. Wearing a mask for three years is NOTHING. #covid #MaskUp

School started today. Only one other child in my child’s class is wearing a mask, for a total of four for the whole grade. None of the teachers are masked, including the visibly pregnant one. Wastewater has already been showing a steady increase the previous two weeks. High temps this week mean everyone will be indoors & windows will be shut.Hang onto your butts & cross your fingers. @ThatWouldBeTelling We have preschoolers wearing respirator masks that diligently, even without institutional support. Given that vaccines do not prevent spread nor long Covid, it’s pretty damn cavalier to entrust our children’s safety to them as a single mitigation.
