@ajroach42 I don't know if I 100% agree, but I empathise with the sentiment. I don't think depending on others is a bad thing. That self-sufficient, lone cowboy attitude is very American. The mobile stuff, I totally agree with that. Mobile operating systems are shit. It's ridiculous we can't put Lineage on any cheap phone.

@ajroach42 I got that impression. But I think it's important to point out some of the toxic attitudes surrounding everything tech, especially when it comes from the US, where everything is about making money and being a cowboy. That rotten libertarian attitude. It ruins everything.

@ErikUden Yep. The last time I tried, it was locked before I could make my first post. Or do anything. And my appeal was rejected. I only did it for my (now defunct) Etsy shop. It's a waste of time, like everything online.

I know I've never been able to. I'm beginning to think that, more and more, selling online is a scam, and always was.

@wjmaggos Trade isn't the same as the monster that is neoliberal capitalism. Capitalism in general creates devastating boom and bust cycles, and everyone just throws up their hands and says, that's just the way it is, it can't be helped. Pull yourself up by your bootstraps! That is what capitalists want. They want you to believe capitalism is a force of nature that can't be contained. It's a lie and I don't accept it.

@internetarchive I would be ok with this decision, if any models trained with fair use materials should be public domain and open source. It is what it is. But I tire of all the AI hysterics, especially from people with little understand of what LLMs are, how training works, and what it's useful for. I'm especially suspicious of anyone sqwaking about copyright, they just want more control, and more capitalism.
