They're about to taking public comment. There's a motion to refer it back to the full task force. It's like ping-pong. 1-415-906-4659 Meeting ID:673 768 846#

So, Bill Scott destroyed or otherwise lost some records, and The Anonymous wants them to send it back to the full task force so that they can give the SFPD a violation

I'm surprised they didn't try to work in the @covid19 vaccination requirement into the fetish. "Puppies must be up to date with vaccines"

@allison True story: I was at a bar once, and I started talking to someone about music. I said something to the effect of how I thought that the music in Hamilton was awful. This person, who looked like he checked off all of the "privilege" categories (presumably cis-gender male, Caucasian, gender conforming, techbro, native English speaker, etc.) started lecturing me about how Hamilton was a step forward for ethnic minorities and was truly a work of art unlike anything that had ever been seen, because it allowed the poor wickle oppressed ones their place in history. I hope he eventually comes across this article: https://www.counterpunch.org/2015/08/21/hamilton-the-musical-black-actors-dress-up-like-slave-tradersand-its-not-halloween/

Incidentally, in addition to being "a boring-ass computer toucher with no particularly noteworthy characteristics", the author of that site happens to be a fediverse user and a candidate for political office. Their specific identity is left as an exercise for the reader.

@denza252 I'm beginning to remember why I decided was going to quit this. Even the Thomas Ostly/Shane Anderies saga isn't as exciting as it usually is.

@allison @sj_zero If you're here in the city, the better Chinese restaurants tend to be in the avenues, and aren't that expensive. There might even be a negative correlation between price and quality.

@lanodan @sj_zero @grumbulon Is fusion cuisine now verboten? It's an interesting experiment to look at how much so-called "Jewish" cuisine is actually just Eastern European or Arab food with a different name. I had a friend who seriously thought that hummus was a Jewish food.

No Police Commission meeting today. I think it's because the DCCC is meeting today. No meeting next week either. Not sure why

Here's the email they sent out: "As you may have heard, the California Secretary of State has received the number of signatures necessary to trigger a recall of the Governor of California. Consequently, the Department of Elections has begun the process of recruiting volunteers to assist voters at the polls and invites you to serve as a poll worker in the upcoming recall election.Although the exact date of the recall election has yet to be set, it is anticipated to occur in September of this year. Similarly, although many public health orders are likely to have been lifted by then, their exact extent has yet to be determined. We will notify you as soon as possible regarding both the specific date of the election and the specific nature of any public health orders affecting in-person voting."

Listened to the B.S. meeting today. They voted on the budget, which surprised me, because last year the budget didn't get finalized until September. A lot of money is going to get poured into homelessness, and there'll also be some funding for rent relief. Dean Preston voted against the budget as a way to grandstand about the SFPD still being marginally functioning. A few other supervisors hemmed and hawed and made remarks about how they agreed that the police budget should have been cut more, or that the police budget had already been reduced. Madame Clerk announced in public comment that they wouldn't take any public comment on the budget, but no #defundthepolice people showed up. I guess people have moved on. What's trending these days? In other news, there was also some stuff on further decriminalizing cannabis, and asking the D.A. and the police to investigate retail break-ins. I find it noteworthy that they're so concerned about the mental health of employees at Target. All of the people I know are a lot more concerned about their cars and houses being broken into than stores that can afford the loss. That being said, allegedly, the break-ins are why Target has drastically reduced its hours. The one on Masonic used to be open until midnight, and now is closed by 6 p.m. I thought they were reducing their hours because they got wind of new @covid19 restrictions or something. Anyway, this all tells you what B.S. priorities are. I wonder how the Chesa recalls are going. They seem to have a lot of money. I hear that one of them is paying. There was also some stuff about a Sunset Chinese Cultural district, and a bunch of dead people. I'm out of practice, so I ended up falling asleep for part of the meeting.A lot of the usual crowd during public comment. Peter Warfield had some complaint about meeting minutes. journoanon called in about something. A few Marijuana advocates called in in support of the pro-cannabis legislation. Francisco da Costa and that woman who calls in about housing were also there. Unfortunately, Francisco da Costa did not really have anything amusing to say today. A bunch of people called in asking for B.S. meetings to resume in person. Madame Clerk assured them that they were working on it, and would do it as soon as possible. Gilbert Chriswell was very opposed to this, as, while he has been vaccinated, he is immunocompromised and HIV+, and Muni doesn't run where he lives, and so he wants to be able to comment by phone. Madame Clerk also assured him that they were working on resuming in-person meetings as soon as possible.David Pilpel was also there, and shared his condolences regarding the dead people. He's withdrawn most of his CEQA appeals, because he was able to come to an agreement with the Planning Department.I missed the SOTF meeting, but I think journoanon streams it on Twitch, and also posts notes about them on nitter.net/journoanon, because he wants everyone to be stalked by internet tracking beacons.

By the way, Caitlyn Jenner is speaking tonight at 6:15 at the Marines' Memorial Club. Sponsored by the Log Cabin Republicans. Tickets are $75, and vaccines are required. Here's the link for the Zoom meeting: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZUqc-qtqDIvHNctnW6IMoRbEv2Qss824CLz. If there's sufficient interest, I may actually listen to the meeting and provide commentary. I think Kevin Kiley is going to be in town Saturday, but possibly in San Jose. If you want to see Kamala Harris, I suggest hanging around Manny's next week. Gavin, Breed, and Chesa were all there, along with others of their kind.
