Their mindset is constantly retarded. They treat work like something having value on its own. No, value lays in effect of the work, not work itself. And yes, if you make "female empowering" movie and it fails to bring women to cinemas something clearly went wrong, but men had nothing to do with it.

Can relate to the guy a little. Not because my proposal was rejected as well (went fine, she accepted), but because I know how nerve wrecking it is if you want to surprise her. Got my driving license on December 2017, proposed on December 2018 and got bachelor degree in Economics on December 2019 and proposal was by far the most stressful of them all.
