@jaxter184 @luka @unfa Yeah, I think it's good to have cc0 samples in any case; for instance, many sounds on freesound.org use cc by/by-nc license - and that makes it impractical or impossible (due to -nc) to use them in some projects.Also, if I used non-libre samples and would like to release the resulting work as CC BY or BY-SA, I would suspect there might be issues with license compatibility (as these licenses allow reuse of the work that contains the samples). But I might be over cautious.

Ukraine is a real country where millions of actual people live. It is not an "empty no man's land" somewhere in-between "the West" and "Russia".All of Russia's rhetoric is as if the world consisted of only Russia and the US (maybe China too). Everyone else is just "territories".It feels weird and angry to be in this situation when whether your country will continue to exist is being decided by other people.In the same time I feel lucky we're close to Europe and thus more...relevant?Ugh.

@unfa 1) it doesn't require registering or providing email address; 2) there are lightweight clients that do not require executing any JavaScript nor consume piles of RAM. (P.S. Ironically, I use IRC through Matrix's + Element, which, indeed, does the latter).

In Lviv, where I live, in 1941 Russian NKVD operatives mass-executed thousands of prisoners while preparing to the retreat of the red army. In addition to shooting, they threw grenades into overcrowded underground cellars. I find it hard to read posts of "poor" Russian users about their inconveniences with Google, etc., as a result of sanctions.Like, what an inconvenience, compared to having both legs lost, for instance, or having one's whole family shot, or being raped and then killed, or being sent to a concentration camp. All of this is the reality imposed by Russian troops on people in Ukraine.What else to say.
