@cy It's normal and usual for a guy to desire to wean himself off his mother's affection. As good it feels, it is always objectifying, and men hate that. The question is, how come you're so different? Isn't that a form of Stockholm Syndrome?

@cy How her absense is trauma if boys seek to distance themselves? It's obvious that mothers objectifying their sons is the culprit. Having a supportive family is a blessing, but when he doesnt have that the man is not "traumatized" by ripping himself away from his family and tribe.

@cy I hoped all my life that I would be able to get people to see value in male sex. But men, collectively, themselves are so hell bent on trashing it that my efforts have amount to nothing. Frankly, I'm at loss at how to recover something so universally reviled. It definitely doesn't involve pleading with her to stick a penis into a vagina. Perhaps there is some genre of art that would allow to capture, transmit and amplify the best the male sex has to offer.

@imgn @cy Men are expected to take up many unpaid jobs in the office. In manufacturing, men are obliged to do riskier, or more labor intensive assignments for the same pay. Computer technicians are often asked to "fix" things for free. This is just from the top of my head. A young fellow may end up doing a project for a classmate and get a failing grade because she complained. It may feel you are being manipulated because you aren't used to it being expected of you in the first place.

@cy In the developed world local authorities are usually elected rather than defaulted into power. In most authoritarian regimes electoral procedures are even more rigorous. Are you complaining there's not enough democracy or do you have real issues to discuss?Without authority (elected or not),1) Everyone takes more than their fair share and gives less than they ought to.2) Shirks weekly meetings, doesn't answer the phone.3) Disappears when the group is going through hard times.
