@tomlevenson @msbellows It didn't seem too bad at the time. Long before the era of alcopops. Don't think I could bear it now. Cordials in alcoholic beverages feels like a real British 80s thing

@_thegeoff @Bitnik @tomlevenson @msbellows We used to drink snakebite...absoolutely vile...half a Bulmer's original topped up with a can of Special Brew......the girls used to add blackcurrant cordial to theirs...Landlords in decent pubs didn't like to serve it as it was cloudy and put off their grownup drinkers. There wasn't a reaction or anything, just strong cider+lager that got your drunk

This photo caused a flurry of interest in the bird cage...one inmate told me it couldn't be real as there are no blue pigments in nature except in one species of butterfly and that isn't that species. They would be almost right, but the colours of butterfly wings are mostly about iridescence not pigments.Lots of blue species here and in the RoW.Notably, the Morpho genus, which isn't just a single species, but a grouping of 29 species and almost 150 subspecies.

While the Frosted Orange takes on an autumnal mantle, the Marbled Beauty has evolved to resemble lichen on tree bark or similar...I wish this specimen had turned itself through 45 degrees clockwise for the photo shoot as it would've looked perfectly aligned with the fragmened lichen on my studio bark sample, hahah. The Marbled Beauty is about 10 millimetres long.Canon R7 and Tamron 90mm macro, with 45mm extension tube#mothsMatter #teamMoth #mothtodon

When they weren't quartering or tussling mid-air, our local Short-eared Owls would occasionally perch to give us barbed looks...Canon R7Sigma 150-600mm OS at full extension, perched on a monopod.t 1/1250sf/6.3ISO 1250EXIF reports the bird was about 65 metres away.

Did you or someone you know recently lose an SD card in Norfolk with 3700 birding photos from a trip to Iceland? Steve Gantlett has found your card, I can put you in touch.
