These are the dark ages of social media.Users on each corporate social site are pointing fingers at every other site for being evil, and shaming users of those sites for complicitly supporting that evil.There are no "good" sites. Every single one of them have skeletons in their closets piled a mile high.Twitter is paying fascists for hate speech.Threads was/is literally illegal in the EU.Bluesky is resistant to moderating hate speech.(Even some large Mastodon instances have poor moderation and TERFy leadership.)So what are you to do?

A lot of people know nothing but a mean, aggressive, confrontational internet.They get on in social media like they'd get on in a steel cage match.This is by design. On corporate social media we are actively shown things that will upset us to bait an angry response out of us.It's up to you to create a positive, peaceful social media experience. Think about what your boundaries are, then unapologetically enforce those boundaries.

"NFT" didn't have any hooks in our cultural consciousness, so that's why when people started kicking the tires, the hype quickly died down."AI", on the other hand, is something we've been promised (and warned about) for decades. Also, the term is being misapplied to all sorts of commercial products, some of them that existed before the ChatGPT hype which is confusing the uninformed person because since now "AI" means whatever the company says it is, they can over-promise and under-deliver, as long as they deliver *something* sometimes.
