@Mundon Good to see more people on XMPP. Snikket is also easy to setup if you follow their Docker-based instructions. I'm not a sysadmin by any stretch and was able to get it running as a test.

@rudolf @stujr curious as to why you wouldn’t recommend something like the PinePhone or Librem 5. I’ve been using iPhones for over a decade but have been considering jumping ship.

@joeligj12 If you can avoid having patrons from downloading a PDF of the menu, I think you're already well ahead of the competition. Keep it simple and easy to navigate, especially on mobile.

@pyre35 isn’t this what the Italian regulators are currently investigating?

@pyre35 same here and I hear you. It's as if we don't really own our devices anymore. That's part of the reason I'm seriously jumping ship to one of the Linux-based phones. I just don't know which ones are ready for prime time with comparable cameras.

@pyre35 @arielcostas I agree. Take a look at https://git-scm.com/book/en/v2/Git-on-the-Server-Generating-Your-SSH-Public-KeyI also wrote a post recently on my blog about setting up a Git server using SSH.

@nilesh I’d probably vote XMPP, IRC and then Matrix, in order of preference.

If you want to learn how your programming language handles testing, I recommend doing some exercises on https://exercism.org/.For example, in trying to get back into #perl, I've learned about test harnesses, the `prove` command, how to structure test cases and the numerous CPAN modules that are available for testing!

@PublicNuisance I use Monal. Only other one that is somewhat usable is Siskin. It’s kind of slim pickings at the moment.

@Zach777 one option (not exactly what you’re asking for) is to put a keyword or character in those lines and then remove them before saving by matching on that patternhttps://vim.fandom.com/wiki/Delete_all_lines_containing_a_pattern

@tinfoilhat nope. That’s how I’ve set up my site, except that my blog is a subdirectory of the main domain rather than a subdomain.

@joeligj12 @hjfitz It's a yearly series of coding/programming challenges run by Eric Wastl. Each day, beginning 1 December, a new 2-part challenge becomes available for you to solve. It's similar to Project Euler or Rosalind but I find Advent of Code to be a bit more fun. It goes through 25 December.https://adventofcode.com/2021/about

@joeligj12 awesome! The first two days aren’t that bad but they will quickly become more challenging. What language are you using to solve them?
