Started my Associate Degree in Programming. In a public (state) institution. I'm not very happy because, lots of reasons. But it's up to me, I'll do my best and try to learn as much as I can. Because I have to, and because I want to. Not much time to spend here though, but I'll try to come and say hello world from time to time. :)

@arivigo Thanks! <3 I'm scared as hell, we are doing stuff I wasn't really counting on it, I centered my learning in "pure" programming and neglected hard stuff like databases and markup, frontend languages... But I'm trying to give me a base in all that in a rush, complementing the classes with internet stuff... It's just, it's so hard and I'm already tired, I need days with more hours... But I can't and musn't complain. Sigh. :)

My grades so far:- Frontend: 9.5/10- Meta-programming: 9/10- Databases (my personal hell): 8.9/10- Systems and stuff: 9.5/10- That pretty boring stuff with nothing to do with computers, but that we have to do anyway because reasons: 6.7/10.Of course I still feel like a total impostor, and that I will fail whatever comes next. No way to change my mind; believe me, I try. :P

@pyre35 Thank you! :D I do feel really insecure, I look at my grades and objectively think that they are not bad at all, but you know how programming and stuff goes... One day everything seems to work, the next day you just get stuck in a problem you seem just too dumb to solve... Well, that's my case anyway. ;) So I just wait for a big fail next, I'm still scared as hell and as if I was just "faking" this so far... But at least I had a good start and still on the race! :D

Some FOSS stats for my class:-All teachers save one are using Google Classroom as teaching platform (that one uses Moodle).-All teachers save one are using Windows in their laptops (that one uses Linux, but forces us to use Google Classroom, Slack and other non-FOSS stuff).-All students with their own laptop, save two, use Windows (of the two, one has a dual boot Windows/Linux, the other is the class' pet, hello that's me).Was this expected? To be honest... No. But hi, real world. :)

@pyre35 Haha, maybe the good gods of Programming did they deeds. XD We have to do our examinations with pen and paper next... I usually need to correct a lot of stuff *running* the code before it works, so writing that on paper, with no possibility to actually try and see if it runs as expected... That's a big no for me. But as I said, I'm still here and I should at least try, bit by bit, I may actually end up learning something! :D

@pyre35 I've been using a term browser (links, generally) for quite a while now and I find it very handy. If I'm messing with something and, say, I just need to check a wiki or blog post, it usually does that fast and nicely, without exiting my usual tiled cluster of terminal windows. So yeah, it's not for every use case, but I'm happy those are still around. :)

@kzimmermann qBittorrent has an embedded search tab, where some popular web search engines are ready to roll, plus you can add whatever you need. Results are usually pretty good. ;)

This snippet from Big Bang Theory's Sheldon Cooper was the basis for my first Programming exam, we had to write 4 functions to perform different operations (primes, mirroring, factorial...) and then a fifth to prove Sheldon's right (passing a number other than 73 returns False, 73 returns True).I did it? Yes. Nicely? But of course, not. XD
