I've been working on moving my blog back to #tekuti, and updating the look of it and my website. I'm quite happy with the result, I hope I'm not the only one.https://ryuslash.orgNow I need to start building it out a bit more and posting some more.

It took me a while to get started, but I've been having fun with #guix home, configuring my laptop. I'm slowly making progress moving more and more into Guix home and figuring out how to make and extend services."The Emacs of Distros" indeed, I'm starting to spend as much time working on my Guix config as I do on my Emacs config :)The image shows how far I've gotten so far.

I've been trying to add something every day. Today's addition was having home-rofi extend home-xbindkeys to define the keys to use it.

I have so many different attempts of writing my website in #orgmode, that I can never remember which is the one I'm using right now.

Prepping for a D&D session later today and I'm making notes to help me later in #emacs #orgmode, and it just so happens someone was talking about Radio Targets recently. I'm using them for the first time and I am just blown away by how great it is. How have I not used these before?!https://orgmode.org/manual/Radio-Targets.html

@jtr @joel hmmm, I don't know how to fix that. I've never used or heard of netify. My site is just a collection of org files that I publish and rsync onto my vps.I don't understand why netify would strip the protocol like that...

@worldsendless a clipboard manager? https://www.slant.co/topics/6280/~clipboard-managers-for-linuxThis wouldn't _exactly_ integrate, since I don't think copying stuff into the clipboard also adds it to the kill ring, just the latest copy is accessible to Emacs. But the other way around might work? Anything added to the kill ring should also be added to the clipboard (or at least is possible), so the clipboard manager might see all of them? I have never tried it myself.

@abcdw I'm guessing that this isn't intended because this sounds like it could be the cause of why my laptop configured with guix home (on arch) doesn't start properly ~50% of the time. I guess one of on-first-login and the other startup script starts and kills shepherd and then the other tries and fails. Now I have no shepherd while still having a pid file for it and the second one won't start shepherd anymore.

@abcdw I've been meaning to, but I haven't been able to find the time yet. I'll see if I can find a moment today.

Yess!!! I sent a patch to guix some time ago that prevented me from upgrading my guix home and it hasn't been accepted, but someone made another patch that fixes my issue and apparently a part of the issue that I didn't even see.https://issues.guix.gnu.org/62922Just upgraded my guix home and it feels so good :ac_happy: Also I don't have to run firefox as `guix shell --pure -- firefox' anymore because I guess guix and arch use the same libc again. Thanks #guix!

And today I learned that the #Emacs helpful package has a "Buffer values" button that lets you see the value of a variable in different buffers 🤯 I guess I won't have to switch to the right buffer and re-invoke describe-variable anymore :ac_happy:
