@izaya i use Win11 for games, just have to make sure your router has a decent firewall or block a few domains

Was going to post an #introduction this morning, but completely forgot! I am Rudi, I am a #polyglot, #programmer, #Sysadmin and #nerd. @Moon you might have to find torrents or go to college cs department websites. I know that there used to be a bunch of old distro isos on my Uni's site but I forgot the link

@Moon no prob! I wish I could remember my old link, I managed the mirror for my uni and was careful not to delete any ISOs because for some projects people wanted insecure/out of date Software. Unfortunately I controlled it via NFS and not the Web URL 😅 another coworker of mine managed all front facing aspects of https://www.cs.sunyit.edu and I managed almost all of the backend

@kadin I think #matrix is #federated so should count, @stux has a matrix server I joined from the #SDF matrix. I wish #XMPP took off as well, Cisco #Jabber uses a bastardized version of it and my old job used jabber. Honestly, if you play stupid games you'll win stupid prizes. I'm the last developer left on my team, because management screwed the pooch on their WFH policy. Sometimes the best thing to do, is nothing. In the case of return to the office, most companies should have done just that. Nothing. If people wanted to return, they would. If not? @ParadeGrotesque at some point though, you'll probably start losing more money to downtime/lack of employees than you would to just paying the lease while WFH. I was mostly talking about saving money on things like electricity, HVAC and other in-building expenses that offices I've worked in have noted dropping during the pandemic due to lack of personnel in the office.

@izaya On my windows VM it shows as just "Discord.exe" but on Linux I use kill -9 `ps aux | grep -i discord | awk '{print $2}'` Technically it's scripted as `gkill` on my system and I can search for any process but the idea is to case insensitive grep all processes for discord and awk for the PID to pass to the kill with extreme prejudice command

@georgia I need to fix the dkim for mine 😭 everything complains that I'm only using DMARC/SPF records to restrict IP/hosts who can speak for my domain instead of signing messages...But the dkim module for the mail appliance I have isn't documented that well and it's a bastardization of dovecot with auto-replaced config files and I forgot how to appease it (Univention Corporate Server)
