       #noob question about ruby.social (or #mastodon and the #fediverse in general): what do people here on ruby.social expect in terms of content? Mostly Ruby (and Ruby community) related, or “anything goes”?Should I register a different account elsewhere  to talk about building book nooks, Arduino, barbecue, or improv theater? Should I split my persona across multiple networks?

       We're trying out a thing at #appsignal :appsignal: : our own Mastodon instance.We're hoping that people who follow/used to follow us on Twitter and are leaving will follow @appsignal to keep up with the #ruby, #elixir, and #nodejs articles we publish at https://blog.appsignal.com/So far, I have zero clues whether company accounts work on Mastodon. Trying this on our own instance seemed like the least-spammy method (requires a follow, won't show up on any instance's local timeline). Thoughts?

       Somewhat related to this: we spent quite some $ on Twitter ads to increase our content's reach, with pretty good results. We've decided to stop funding them as soon as Elno came barging in, but dirty as this may sound: eyeballs count. Our articles are a good driver for next-step actions.
