@moomin I'm watching a course on ipfs on udemy and will probably end up getting a domain from unstoppable domains at some point. I've been on LBRY for a couple years, but don't post any videos.If I were a software developer I would work on two projects. I would take Antenna Pod and fork it so that it can read rss feeds from ipfs and dark web urls. I'd also add a torrent client to it so that it can recognize torrent files from a rss feed and offer the option to fetch the media file using the torrent. That would cut the hosting companies out completely and the listeners would become the "host." The other project would be to fork popcorn tv and add a rss feed reader function. It would then be suitable as a dissident video platform.

@Ottovonshitpost @auschwitzmuseum Pretty sure there would have still been supply chain problems since the Allied powers were bombing the railroad infrastructure. There would not have been different infrastructure for Auschwitz and local civilian needs. If anything Auschwitz was given higher priority for supplies over the surrounding civilian population. If Auschwitz didn't have reliable food then neither did the local civilians.

@TarnishedYarmulke Mint is good. I used it for a while both with the Ubuntu base and the Debian edition. The app store is fairly comprehensive and the update process is fairly good. If you're going to dual boot use a physically separate drive from Windows. Windows doesn't play nice with other OSs on the same drive as itself.Are you using cutting edge hardware or is your PC a couple years old or more? Do you have an Invidia GPU?

@TarnishedYarmulke Before you nuke the Windows drive, you might want to create some live usbs of various distros and desktop environments and play with those for a while (without installing) to see what you like and how it works on that hardware. If there is specific software you want to run, most will run in any distro although you might have to use a universal package manager to install instead of using the distro's repository. But there are exceptions so you'll want to check if any must have software requires a specific distro or if it isn't available in some distros.Currently my favorite distro is Fedora with the Plasma desktop environment.
