@NEETzsche @ew If that's your take, it's probably worth seeing. I'm told it's full of poz, but they threw a decent special effects budget at it. Imagine it's something other than Dune if you don't want the books ruined for you.

@flvc @alex @Gnomeshatecheese > Aren't Apple's ARM processors almost as fast as laptop processors? The processor in a current-generation iPad Pro or iPhone Pro is as powerful as a typical business laptop. And it would run rings around a high-end gaming rig from ten years ago.The current challenge is one of market incentive, not tech.

Would anyone use an opt-in "plausible deniability" feature that very occasionally posted third-party content as you?It might invite another user in good standing to author a post. Or it could pick a random post from another user on another instance and copy it over.

@NEETzsche @ThatDude They do this on purpose. They select for the easiest marks, and they are always adjusting. If they don't get enough responses to keep the warehouse full of paki scammers busy, they make the next email campaign slightly more plausible. If they get too many responses, they make it less plausible. This shit will always be with us.

@tengumatingpress @sjw Generally speaking, unusual personal configurations are more likely to introduce security defects and patching oversights. A small chance of libressl saving your bacon wouldn't be worth it if it introduces a moderate chance of not patching things because they don't show as pending updates in your distro.Sticking with your distro's recommended packages, removing unused packages, and adding any form of host intrusion detection would put you ahead of the pack. OSSEC is a good HIDS solution. It doesn't play well with journald, if that makes the systemd (including journald) vs init decision easier.

@polack They can be apart, but the two must complement each other. The scholars must provide something the warriors believe is worth fighting for. And the scholar class must teach the people to revere the warriors who rise to a worthy fight. The current toppling of statues and corruption of culture attacks both halves of that deal.
