       @josh Morning.It is really easy - it starts as a WiFi AP, and even puts SSID on the screen for you. Connect and browser should come up and allow you to set your WiFi details.Then it has an IP, and can even have a name.local name if you set a name, and you can set up on the web page settings.I have coded a weatherapi, but not heard of the carbon intensity API before.That said, it would not be hard to add a generic URL/API request for JSON so you can do that.

       @josh the bin one is specific expected json to drive how it shows.But we do have generic MQTT json topics and so on, which work well. Adding one or more generic json fetch would not be hard.You can then extract fields and do some formatting on them to display.You can also configure via MQTTOh, and if you are in UK with an A&A account we can do direct instead of tindie.

       @josh we also have the 2” colour LCD boards (see Faikin Remote on Tindie) which have various sensors but can use the same EPD display software (with colour options and fast updates). Obviously a lot smaller.I have a few customers who say they are now addicted to my various widgets :-)

       @josh OK code updated, can now do a generic JSON API poll, so you can display, for example${API.data[0].intensity.actual}

       @neil I am a tad divided on this.What makes sense is an industry such that around half the people that could be in the panel are female. And then that half the panel are female.But if 95% of people that could be on the panel are male? Ensuring one is female is distorting things, assuming a small panel.What needs fixing in such cases is why is the split of those that could be on the panel skewed?Maybe distorting things in such cases helps that in the long term?

       OK, at a loss. Suggestions welcome.I put a few few bits in a bag, tools, wire cutters, that sort of stuff.Used them today.Came home, and put back stuff.And in the bag is this.I have zero idea where this comes from - nothing I was working on - nothing venue related (pub), nothing I have from home.I seriously have no clue what this spring is for or where it came from,

       Too much alcohol!?!I ordered 2x5l of isopropyl alcohol from some random web site.What arrived was 2x500ml.i was not amused.Web site had no contact details apart from email, which bounced as invalid, and web contract form which got no reply.Sent contact via shopify saying I would reclaim on Amex if no reply.Reclaimed on Amex, and now have refund, so ordered 2x5l from someone else.Now, twice, I have received an additional 5x5l from original seller.This is getting silly.

       @josh Tricky, these early boards had a large inductor soldered on and it is a bit sideways - is that what mean or something else. I can't make out the mark on the right though. Did it get physically bashed - i guess if dropped? The inductor does look chipped even. May be a bit of soldering will fix.But yes, that circle is display driver power, so if broken it stops display working.Also, new board seems fine until you try to remove the old board from the panel - I am not sure what solvents.

       @josh Broken inductor, as I am sure you realised. Easily replaced - display now works.Also lost a corner LED, I have wired bypass so rest of LEDs work.Posting back.[Apologies for wrong name on postage label]

       When I had a stroke I was actually quite shocked at the lack of information from NHS when discharged.When I had a fall I had like four separate "you broke, or nearly broke, this that and the other" type advice sheets. Very good stuff.For a stroke I only had one thing on speech issues (with a number to call if I had problems, yes, really!). Nothing on what is a stroke, or why, or what to do next.But it seems that if ever I have a hip replacement the NHS has detailed advice for me... Phew.

       @Free_Press People have had the new definition of "piracy" hammered in to them for decades covering copyright infringement, they forget actual piracy is a real and serious crime.

       I use Apple TV (app on LG TV) a lot.And yes, I watch a lot of the same old crap (like SG-1 start to finish).I tried it using Starlink, mainly to test Starlink, and noticed that it would often drop frame rate, making it all "stuttered". I have since ditched Starlink for various reasons, including Elon being a dick.But lately I see it do the same once again, and this is on a low latency symmetric dedicated 1G/s fibre.So are Apple being special? Or LG?Stop, and resume fixes for a bit.

       I am guessing a professional translator in Switzerland, translating for a Swiss audience, actually had to say this, and somehow not burst out laughing."Ohne die USA würdet ihr jetzt alle Deutsch sprechen."
