@lain in research it takes lots of data, experiments, and years of work to make sense of everything, even more to make claims that are not "boring" to the people not versed in the field. You could say they have found many combinations NOT to find new elem particles. This misunderstanding and fearmongering keeps lots of projects for the common good underfunded, and forces scientists to make precipitated claims just to stay afloat.

@lain i was talking in general, not aware there were plans for an LHC extension (sorry, not a physicist). IMO other fields which are not so resource hungry can benefit from the money that'd otherwise go in an unfertile research (especially since France reduced research budget enough already). So to answer your question: yes more labs, but in other less flagship-ish fields

Relative got xiamoi's take on roomba for xmas. Associated App complains it can't "sync" with the thing, when it's literally acting as a wifi AP (to which the phone is connected). Only after allowing all permissions (gps, fs, etc) apparently vital to send an IP packet will it magically let you sync and later setup to connect to the home nw.Blown away by the amount of engineering that went into ensuring my relative's data be vaccumed to china. #internetofshit

Hey instance, I'm Remy, a french brought up in latam.Been gracefully rocking i3/arch at work for 1 and 1/2 years now.Im interested in everything decentralised and have strong opinions about user privacy.More than admire Foss, i think it's the easiest path to emancipation from big companies. This said, i still get payed for dealing with aws (oh well). Not a big social media guy, but i already found some interesting content here so let's hope i can give something back. #introduction
