Probably not going to finish the eye splice. I must have re-done it 3 times today(4th time total), and it's *still* not perfect. Getting there though.I am finding it difficult to keep the strands from unravelling(taped ends, i twist as I tuck), especially after the second tuck. It is murder on my hands, and I broke the tip of my DIY fid XD...I will practice on small ropes for a little while, and then move back to 12mm (1/2").#finishit

Not the best time of year to ferment things (veggies aren't cheap), but we need to stock up on preserves now if we want to have enough food stores for the summer :>.3xjars of turnips and beets4xjars of sauerkraut with chilisWe still have about 7 jars from last fall that we still haven't eaten :>.*edit for context: we spend time away from cities in the summer, and finding good food while sailing can be difficult.
