@nicole Thanks for the video! I especially liked the *stacks* functionality. Someting like that would be useful in #obsidian as well. Temporarily collect a bunch of notes, (try to) do something with them, and then in one click destroy the connection between those notes.Having an IA tag your notes feels a bit icky, but having it look at your Readwise stuff is a good compromise.Enjoyed the š„, thanks!

@nicole bookmarks, that is *such* a simple and obvious solution, I drove right past it. Thank you for solving this without one line of code š„³

@nicole I've been playing around with the bookmark function. Open bookmark folder as new window is excellent already, but *exporting a group as links* would create a very simple workflow to create a MOC or index-page (doing it by hand is not *hard*, but letting Obsidian doing it always better).Where is this tracked? Is that public?

@nicole Git is probably the most amazing piece of code I ever worked with (knowingly). But it *can* be arcane at times! Good write-up (I will not write this down as Iām sure Iāll remember it *this time*).PS your vault is hilarious, where else can you find ā30% regeling voor bedrijvenā and āRiver of bloodā right next to each other? The latter sounds more interesting, though š

@nicole Sports people also get into a flow state(I read somewhere), so it goes beyond creative endeavors.I have a note to read about flow, it is such an strange phenomenon. A bit like self-hypnosis maybe?

@nicole @obsidian Wow! Thatās one way to do it. To make sure you carefully read a book you applied to talk at a conference about it (or related to itā¦)Great video, btw

@nicole @obsidian Your version didnāt work. And then the original version didnāt work either. So I took yours apart (Iām a stack-overflow-how-do-i-do-if-then-in-javascript coder). And fixed it. It was a typo in my configā¦So thanks for your plugin š (and send silly merge request to protect against bugs between the keyboard and the chair)

@nicole @obsidian In my settings I had: āPrivate, Journalā (note the space before Journal). That meant it wasnāt matched. After that I noticed it didnāt match files with āJournalā in the title itself, so replaced āstartWithā to match the beginning of the offending path.In all, nothing spectacular, but now it works! So I will add a changelog, just like the cool kids š

@StephZihms @jasondowns Obsidian templates are useful when combined with plugins like templater, otherwise just using a text expander is easier. I use Alfred for snippets, words, simple blocks etc, templater for things that need brains, like dates or queries.Having markdown as base of everything makes it easy to pick and choose our own workflows. #ObsidianMD is really an app you can spend a lot of time in :-)

@nicole Since we canāt thank you for a new video, thank you for some old ones:This one was amazing, I dislike too much automation and plugins, but this video showed when and how to break those rules: **My setup in Obsidian for TTRPGs in 2023**https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=003Jvume-cAAnd one slightly more theoretical I really enjoyed: **How to organize your notes in Obsidian // The LATCH method**https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vS-b_RUtL1AThank you!

@nicole @obsidian Itās great that itās easy to swap out core plugins, with your own replacements. It shows that the devs are really user-first, instead of trying to push their own idea. That is probably one of there reasons Obsidian is so popular, it is possible to really make it your own.

Finally figured out how to correctly use dataview in a page that is *not* just infrastructure (there it is fine to have real dataview, the page should update every time I open it). It is possible to combine templater and dataview to query my notes, and then convert the data in markdown.Used as a test in my end-of-date-review: https://qwxlea.org/burning-out-dataviews#obsidian

@anders Yes, the tiny snippet shows it best, it needs to be inserted with templater

@anders @dh As our needs evolve, many people have gone full-circle:- from omni-outliner + kgtd (kinkless) - a home-brewed gtd system- to omnifocus - a very slick, but ever expanding gtd system- to obsidian + scripts (tasks, dataview & js)the web-version of obsidian is not as sleek as omnifocus, but it is non-subscription (except sync) and fully self-controlled

Found out today itās possible to *bookmark a graph view*. Combined with Filters (-path:Journal exclude all journal pages, etc), this will give a nice way to use the graph for an overview of my notes. For example here: my (kind of) zettelkasten. Everything else is removed from the graph (journals, private pages, people, etc)Until now I always thought it too much work to setup the graph, but now I can save them, and later revisit. Very cool!#obsidian #lateToTheParty
