The window title bars are massive, it's like someone looked at Gnome 4 and became very excited.

Getting concerned because the tech support department at the ISP I'm on used to be pretty darn good but lately started featuring people who:- Didn't realize port forwarding doesn't work as expected because they introduced a CG-NAT recently.- Did not know what IPv6 was or that they offer it. (He does now! I think.)- Couldn't tell me if their SFP can work with a certain piece of hardware that they're supposed to know of. They were very surprised to hear if exists.- Got confused when I told them the built-in web server inside their leased router sometimes stops responding, and that my tests with telnet on port 80 (no https) shows that I get an HTTP connection but no response to GET requests. The guy just kept telling me "the router doesn't support telnet" or "maybe telnet confuses the router, try a browser".Dude I tried to telnet port 80 because none of the browsers were getting anywhere. Also the thing has an open telnet port but I wasn't even trying that. :blobglare:โ€‹

@pingviini when I first joined them years ago they had a single disinterest guy answering the phone, giving the right answer every time and when you said it works he just hung up in your face.It was magical. :blobheart:โ€‹

@izaya I think mostly it's just about having a whole bunch of easy to grab hard drives VS having to open a chassis.

@izaya I wasn't a fan of how conversation tabs on Dino keeps rearranging whenever I get a message with the latest tab to get a message moving to the top of the list - but with the recent Gajim UI update now nearly all of them are doing it.I suspect it's one of those things that make sense on mobile and just gets annoying on desktop.

@owl heys, it's been awhile but you might be interested in this - someone made a hardware sound generator for SSD disk access: https://hackaday.com/2022/09/26/tiny-dongle-brings-the-hard-drives-song-back-to-updated-retrocomputers/It hooks up to the HDD activity light and makes clicking sounds over a piezo speaker. It's aimed at retro PCs that want to switch to flash drives without losing the HDD sound aesthetic but nobody said you can't use it on your modern machine!Demo starts at 7:09 here: https://youtu.be/zxTtG9wmAFM?t=429

If you ever wondered what it looks like inside those #KamenRider masks...#SuperSentai tends to have more field of view but lately they started copying the fancy Kamen Rider helmet designs which means they also have a limited visible range.#cosplay

The funny thing is you can see a disconnected modem on the upper PCI slot.
