@liaizon @Mastodon outside of this bubble this is THE major point of criticism when moving to the Fediverse. If you can just sign up to Mastodon Social you can still move later. If we cannot prioritize these complaints the Fediverse will never grow and all the Dezentralisation will not matter anyways.

@tusooa @Mastodon @liaizon the solution is to fix the move feature, not keep people from having a simple access to the Fediverse. You cannot have the cake and eat it too. It’s more important for people to join now and bring their networks than everything being extremely dezentralized.

Elon #musk banned multiple opposition accounts on Twitter the day before the extremely tight election tomorrow. The Fediverse and #Mastodon did not manage to mitigate ANY of this damage. What needs to happen, that it can? There can be no Tabus. This is democracy at stake.

@rysiek @laurenshof you cannot solve spam attacks unless you do some sort of control at the entrance. That’s the only way to stop it. Instance size has nothing to do with it. That Mastodon.Social was targeted first is probably due to it being well known.

@troed every user can just visit this url, log in and get their own feed. It is not a full mastodon client however like elk.zone for example. But I hope clients will implement this.

Letztlich muss da aber deutlich mehr Hauptamtlicher "Drive" dahinter, damit das Projekt gelingt. Große Medienhäuser wie SZ, derspiegel und ÖR müssen Geld in die Hand nehmen, eigene Instanzen aufsetzen und vor allem GEMEINSAM in Discoverability investieren.

Informatik-Unis müssen Projekte mit ihren Studis durchführen und Open Source Projekte langfristig betreuen. Die Bundesregierung muss die Fördertöpfe aufmachen und Hackathons organisieren. Twitter ist tot, das muss uns allen klar sein.

@mastodonmigration @kevinrothrock @anderspuck @kallekn it’s still the wrong way around. If I follow I list now I can only decide to show all of them in my home timeline or none of them. But what if I follow some of them for the „list“ but not others?
