@Teri_Kanefield @georgetakei the 24/7 need to have coverage merged with the short term profitability requirements make for poor incentives for quality and/or integrity.It's a real systemic/societal problem of modern profit driven news.Looking back ye olde nightly news hour - with limited time for the final product they produced better quality partly because they only had that one hour.

@gwynnion and no one in any position of power is stepping back and observing that *just maybe* religion is the root of the problem here. Doesn't fix the dire situation but you don't solve problems when you can't speak about the root causes.

@TonyStark @Properganda do you support First Nations people's right to their land?That's sorta the issue here. The Palestinians were forcibly removed from their lands to make way for the (eventual) Jewish state.Shouldn't both people be allowed equal say in the gov of that land?

@koos @clive the issue with trees is space needed to be a significant piece. I've seen estimates of 5-7 acres of mature forest per person. That's just not viable (and requires almost monoculture forests).Trees for shade to save AC usage and reduce urban heat island are fabulous and just for plain old air quality and beauty. Everyone should plant a tree or 5 in their yards tho.

@Bernard definitely. one mitigating factor is personal cell phones. Those can reasonably suffice in a majority of personal uses today. Of course, don't use the wifi or at minimum without a vpn haha
