@qdot It's at least better than 'Object reference is not set to an instance of an object', though. :)(In the same way as MS is remarkably incompetent in Windows matters, they are incompetent regarding .NET as well, so their IDE constantly comes up with rather internal error messages all over the place. You got an actual error message for end users at least.)

@wjmaggos @briankrebs @signalapp No no, when the big departure from WhatsApp happened a few years ago, all those freedom fighterz (all 5) had no better idea than Signal. Of course. Because that was the most disappointing decision they could make. And if there is one big unwritten rule... Anyways..........Nowadays they probably lament about it at RedditTube. (And of course are all back at WA, because their mother, or whatever lame excuse, ...)

@w3c It would have been perfect if you had never been there at all, but this is at least much better than staying there. Nice move. @gnulinux Ich kenne mich mit Linux deutlich besser aus als mit Windows. Ich habe hier privat nur Linux seit 20 Jahren.Aber rein technisch betrachtet..... Huuu.... Schwer argumentierbar. Es ist der Wert der Freiheit, und heute auch, dass man nicht beschnüffelt wird und nicht auf anderleuts Rechner (genannt: Azure) gedrängt wird.Wen das alles nicht juckt (weil er eh im Facebook lebt und zum Klo nur mit Google Maps findet), der hat mit Windows einfach das deutlich bessere und rundere System.

Es ist auch - entgegen dem, was viele einem immer instinktiv entgegengöbeln - üüüberhaupt kein Technikthema. Es ist ein Menschenthema. Kennt ihr Menschen? Schonmal gesehen? Interagiert mit? Dann war die Android-Story, die Musk-Story, usw ja im Prinzip direkt absehbar für alle, die sich dem nicht verschlossen haben.

Die ganzen 15 Jahre schon. Welche Arbeit findet daran statt? Ich sehe nur Opportunismus. Die FSFE hatte damals auch schonmal dick FB-Deko auf der Webseite, oder? Ich 'könnte' mich irren. Hab's aber iwie noch vor Augen... Mit dieser Grundhaltung zu GAFAM&Co wird's ein Griff in die sanitäre Anlage bleiben.

Ansonsten nicht so gut. Da strömt jeder einfach erratisch und desinteressiert in 'irgendeine' Richtung, und im Schnitt kommt man wieder am Ursprung aus.

@cryptgoat ... ich kannte damals mehrere Leute, die haben dich irgendwann vor die Wahl gestellt, ihnen entweder ins FB und WA zu folgen, oder mit sehr eingeschränktem Kontakt zu leben.Oft war es auch der Nachwuchs, die Enkel, oder weißgottwas.... und anstatt denen eine klare Ansage zu machen, habt ihr Kopfnickerei betrieben und irgendwas Planloses von Abwägung gestammelt.Und heute gibt's immer mal wieder die Rechnung. Mal ist es Musk, mal MS, mal Google. Ihr hängt ja überall tief drin.
