Hurraaaah! Finally, after almost a year of using my #PinePhone I did a recent upgrade and found that I could import my contacts exported in .vcf. Since I had **2,555** contacts on my previous phone, this is a much needed feature for me.Thank you so much @jsparber @nielsdg @aday and the other folks who work on Contacts for GNOME.#freesoftware #gnomeproject #phosh

@jsparber @nielsdg @aday I realize now that my attempt to add alt-text failed. It's a screen shot of my phone's screen with a popup that says, "Continue import? By continuing, you will import 2,555 contacts." Underneath that it says "continue" and "cancel." The answer to that question was pretty obvious -- "Yes, import all my contacts!!!"

@fsf @egallager Are you familiar with this?I might be a valuable thing to mention when bringing your bills to discussion. It shows how proprietary software can cause long-term cost to municipalities and states.

@iron_bug That's a good point. Certainly, to achieve a sustained ability to transfer knowledge across disciplines, a person needs to learn how to think and reflect upon their knowledge in a cross-disciplinary way. Otherwise, they can get into a bit of a rut.I believe I've read a paper that says as much. Once I dig it up, I'll share it.

Just finished a Sunday morning coffee with @fsf executive director Zoë Kooyman. We chatted about free software and education, parenting, and nonprofit leadership. I'm very thankful for all of the FSF's efforts in advocating for software freedom for all.It's also one of the final days for their current office space. Shortly after learning about free software, I came to this space to meet everyone and ask questions. Now begins a new chapter, but the fight is just as relevant as it ever was.
