Do action movies suck now, or am I just getting old? I used to enjoy action scenes. Now I keep a sudoku handy to work on during the fights, shootouts, and car chases. They are so trite and predictable.

@mikegastin Tinkler jumped out to early lead, Gastin in 2nd well behind with slim margin over 3rd place. As more precincts reported, Gastin consistently closed the gap w/ Tinkler while pulling further ahead of 3rd as more precincts reported. Local NBC says 69% reported, and Gastin solidly in 2nd place. It’s not over, but runoff seems likely!

I read Follett's Pillars of the Earth historic novel 30 years ago but I guess I forgot the shocking parts. I've been on a Medieval history kick, so decided to listen to it on audio. I'm 1/3 through and can't keep going. WTF is wrong with Ken Follett? If a 17 year old girl is raped by a psycho, okay, that's part of the story - sadly part of real life, too. But why describe it in such graphic detail from the psycho's perspective? That's the worst example, but not the only one. I'm out.

@mitch when you do a left outer join and then include terms from the right side in your where clause, you lose the outer join result. Instead put the right side tens in the join. I’m on my phone so I can’t rewrite to show you. If you don’t get what I mean, I can show you when I get to my computer. Not saying that’s the source of the problem, but one thing I noticed.

@levisan the singularity of cleanliness would when things are so clean that attempting to clean generates more unintended entropy than is eliminated by the intended act of cleaning... No that can’t be right. That happens every time I try to organize the pantry, which is definitely not a singularity of cleanliness.
