@fsf I'm confused by the framing of the choice organizations face. This makes it sound like they are asking, "What single communication channel shall we choose, thus requiring our public to come to it?" and not, "What online spaces are being used by our public? How can we have a visible presence in all of them? How can we easily publish information so people can find it without actively seeking it out?"

@tek I've learned to be very careful offering such praise: some businesses are so broken that ANY feedback about an employee is automatically registered as a complaint. When in doubt, it's best to seek out the employee's manager rather than corporate headquarters.

@gedeonm @_intothevoid @jon@social.lot23.com @zorinlynx I rarely encountered most of the problems people complain about with Twitter. No ads. No crazy tweets elevated by the algorithm. No missed posts from infrequent posters of great content. How was that possible? Third-party browsers (Talon, Plume, etc), chronological mode, extensive use of lists, and TwitterListManager. I really hope a rich ecosystem of 3rd-party software develops around Mastodon.

@lauren Agreed! I also deeply appreciate it when an instance publicly lists all of its blocks along with the reason for blocking (qoto.org comes to mind).
