@killyourfm find the space and thing that makes you feel whole, whatever it is. After that you might consider beaconizing that stuff, but only after that. Great idea btw, thanks for sharing, it made me say somewhere else "less rabbithole, more real life".

@JoeRess @amolith @linuxlads @popey that was a nice one! I think Linux will remain fringey (at least as personal computing) and that's fine. Get on with it gives indeed the space for immutable distros and the likes of the Steam deck, we and Gen Z focus more on the what than on the how and you can see that also around whether to use 'propietary' sw or not. Who really cares? I'm back to editing my fstab file for now, and rest assured curiosity is timeless 😎

Watched the last episode of TechOverTea by @BrodieOnLinux , with Georges Stavracas, a great lead dev in Gnome, Wayland, you name it. The amount of shiite and harassment he, and many other FOSS people have to suffer is simply staggering. And no, it's not 'them', it is from the 'free and opensource community'. It's by us. Don't need another laptop. Swap out Cinnamon and get Cosmic on Slackware Current, works great. Another one of those great community contribs to Slackware. We still have a long way to go, boys and girls, on those immutables:Xenia (Gentoo): rough around the edges, but works. Distrobox export hit or miss, layering seems to work, but doesn't, grub pre-selects a non-working entry. SerpentOS: 2 iso's, 2 usb sticks, Impression and dd: doesn't boot, not even recognized in bios menu.KDE-Linux: boots, but loops endlessly: no-go. On we go.

@10leej @serpentos it absolutely is, no issue with that. But atm can't even boot into it. Ventoy, separate usb, dd, Impression, no party time. Followed the instructions on the webpage. No biggie.
