@mdhughes I’ve rtesorted to taking screenshots & feeding them into a handy OCR app called Picatext. Then I copy the text (making sure it’s accurate first) & paste it into a web browser.

A blog claimed a particular iOS app could perforn downloads. I bought it & it can do so, but not in a manner that’s any different to using Safari & the Files app.Today I requested a refund and to my surprise, it was instantly granted.

@mdhughes Yoink on iOS. I recall I once used to use the Mac version a few years ago but ditched it as it was a painful piece of shit.The iOS one is supposed to download files, which it can but the trick after such a download is doing anythuing useful with it.

Sister at Mum’s place was annoyed by an intermittent beeping sound in the garage where the solar array’s inverter is installed. Initially it was thought the new inverter was beeping, then maybe it was the mobility scooter or its charger.I nutted it out today. There’s a jumpstarter battery in a box thingie, which hadn’t been used for about 18 months. Its battery was low and the “charge me” reminders, a red LED & an audible warning were active.Attaching a charger stopped the beep.

I dislike IKEA stores intensely. Too big and awkwardly set out. So it pleased me to see this article: https://d.pr/vmvnHrIkea has opened its smallest store in the world in a bid to adapt to Aussie shopping habits.They do not plan on opening any more of the huge stores, preferring instead, ones approx ⅓ of the area.That’s the only thing that’ll get me back into IKEA.

@mdhughes They haven’t ha decent laptop keyboard since the arrival of the Unibody models. This is why I keep my 2008 MacBook Pro 15-inch going: a brilliant keyboard.
