@justinz I'm under the impression Purism has to charge more for their phones because it's all "ethically sourced", or am I wrong about that?Still.. $2199, crazy.. especially compared to a pinephone (or even the pinephone pro).

@flab But it gets better, if you want to use your own custom domain, that's gonna cost you $144/year instead of the $99 (domain not included).How much is your domain if you don't mind me asking? $80 is a bit more than I'd pay, but not bad when you include the domain.

I used to be indifferent when it came to Signal, but more and more I'm starting to see it's not really compatible with a free and federated ecosystem and ideology. Its just another app store chat app.

I'm really liking #Lagrange on Linux so far. I'm looking for a good client on Android, but it doesn't seem like things are updated very often over there. Maybe I'll just browse #Gemini on my laptop/desktop.And how is everybody managing certs/accounts? Do you just back them up regularly? I bought the domain "selfhost.forum" with the goal of setting up a federated #NodeBB instance, but I've been putting it off as I don't want to spend the time and effort setting it up if there isn't any interest. No point if it's just for me.Has anybody beat me to this yet? That would be ideal.Are you interested in participating in forums on the fediverse?

With the most recent update to the Video rooms (BETA) on #Element, it seems as though everything is there to be a suitable Discord replacement. Screen sharing, audio calls, video calls. It's all there, now I just need to convince people to give this program a shot for a third time.. Maybe I'll wait til after the beta.If only #XMPP had a client like this. 😢

@nk @grunfink after looking into it, the only major downside for me is the lack of "importing" for my following/followers, otherwise it's very appealing.
