@Teri_Kanefield I can’t see her. Does Mastodon have a feature where if you block someone on your own threads, other people can’t see them? Or possibly the person was already blocked by my server.

I asked #ChatGPT-4 for a dialogue where Columbo interviews ChatGPT and it cast itself in the part of a murdering Chatbot who killed an AI researcher who was trying to train it with negative feedback. Not spooky at all!

@moultano @TedUnderwood I'm also struggling to understand what "culture isn't created by individuals mean." If you mean the zeitgeist is a creation of groups of people who are shaped by culture even as they themselves shape it, I suppose that's true but I'm not sure what it has to do with AI On the other hand, when I'm sitting down to write a script, sure feels to me like I'm an individual creating something.

@TedUnderwood @moultano The cultural theory goes a little over my head but if you're saying artists will collaborate with tools that will help shape the product that makes sense. If we're sharing authorship with tools I'm less happy about that! IMHO 1) many journalists don't understand AI chatbots 2) many tech industry people are incentivized to overstate the future of AI chatbots. So I'm approaching both sources of information with a grain of salt.
