@stux #PiHole doesn't help (I think)... Think they serve ads from same addresses as videos, so can't easily block.Gave up a year ago and I just started paying for it.... 😑Have got a few of my favourite channels being scrapped by a #PeerTube instance I got though... 😂

I manage a small in-house IT department of 7 people.I literally score -9.5 on the left-right axis, and we've got Lib-Dems, pro-Trump/UKIP supporters and one literal **zi.Our team get on amazingly well, we often discuss politics - respectfully - despite people's differences.Imagine if we'd treat people like people do online, we'd all childishly block each other and who knows what.🤦♀️People have the right to think something different to you! Stop blocking everyone and have a little respect.

So how come Russia is banned from #Eurovision for blowing up civilians.But Israel is still in it despite blowing up civilians for decades now?Or is that OK in the west because the civilians are brown?Or is it because the geopolitical interests of Israel align more closely to the west than Russia's geopolitical interests?

I don't see how leaving fascists isolated in their little #fascist communities is going to stop them from being fascists.🤔 #Fascism is literally tackled by a diversity of opinions (or the Red Army), not by isolating them off from the rest of society.My parents are GB News watching right-wing racists, guess I should just block them and leave them getting all their information from GB News and never interact with them again?Yeah that sounds like an effective strategy. 🤦♀️

The #NovaKakhovka dam is under Russian control. It's destruction mostly floods Russian controlled areas and washes away Russian fortifications.It lowers the water level where #Ukraine could cross the Dnieper at the ZNPP during their offensive.It can deprive Crimea of water.Last summer we saw Ukraine fire dozens of HIMARS into the dam.#Russia has zero military incentive to destroy the dam. Ukraine has plenty, especially knowing they can just blame Russia and the West will repeat it.

A lot of genuine concerns raised across the #Fediverse around #Meta, #Facebook etc today.Is it good they're using ActivityPub? I'd argue yes.Is it bad they'd almost instantly dominate the Fediverse overnight? Yes.Blocking people/servers isn't the solution in my opinion, but then censorship triggers alarms in my head. Seizing the means of production and putting Meta under public ownership and democratic control is the solution we should want.#anticapitalism #socialism #socialist
