Loosing a familiar.I just gave the cats their last dinner together with us. From now on we'll be missing one. Pickles is dying, from a virus it's had for several years. Not curable.The other cat, Ajvar, litter sibling, will have to learn to live with humans on its own now. I really hope it'll adjust well.

My 3yo is struggling with the concept. But they're aware that we'll miss Pickles. With Ajvar included in that "us"."I'll miss Pickles, and mom, and Ajvar and you, and [5yo sibling]."Nit differentiating between humans and cats. We're all the same, to the 3yo.

@popstar @ArtistMarciaX @queeranarchism I have two problems connected to this issue.One is the belief that it's the anger that changes things, and that change will be quick. Like, one of the greatest changes in me has probably come from @popstar 's posts on ancient mexica culture. I'll let you know in a couple of years. I'll not be able to boost the thing that made the biggest change.But we're taught that it's the (often male) angry screamers who bring about change. And then we boost people which are just venting frustration, because that's what we've learned to look for.My other problem is that I think there's something built into how social media works that makes it harder for people to change. Like, I've been blocked for calling people out a few times. But that might be because this form of media is not for the type of discussions that produce conclusions, agreements or compromise.If you are someone with a lot of followers and a lot of interactions, it becomes impossible to tell good criticism from trolling.So maybe we should stop telling ourselves that we're here for those kinds of discussions.

@DesCoutinho this paints a really interesting picture. Like the only interesting struggle is between the west and China. And I suppose the same can be said about India?And, like, I've always assumed that if the west is falling, and I surely think so, at least USA, but then the interesting struggle to me is maybe between India and China?
