@kravietz @toussaint @vfrmedia I get the idea of perverse incentives & gaming the system. It's the argument people here use against #environmental regulation. That "green" enriches hustlers.I live in the #pine-belt, where everything turns yellow with pollen yearly & struggle to keep pines that sprout in the yard from taking over. No one here would think of putting pine-wood in a fireplace. What makes it so good for construction also makes it burn very dirty. What's described is inefficient.

@chaoddity @iotar My old boss described how it had been his job to hire (foreign) #mercenaries during the war in #Vietnam. His three takeaways:1. They're the scum of the earth. 2. They pick and change sides according to who pays better, week to week.3. After smoking enough dope, they'll forget who's paying them and shoot at the wrong airplane.I don't figure that's changed much. Better such folk not have a US passport.

@benjaminwittes My old boss, a grand ol' man, long ago, presumably in a snit, took a pocketknife and an art gum eraser and carved it into a rubber stamp bearing the word BULLSHIT and proceeded to mark every document crossing his path, top and bottom, front and back, in bright red, with this stamp. When the reckoning came, he insisted that every document's classification was reflected by its markings. In fairness, I'm confident that every scrap ultimately found it's way to the burn-barrel.
