@jwildeboer Well, he knows a lot about fake news. So at least in that respect, he will be absolutely right (by taking care of that himself, if necessary).

@jwildeboer Not convinced. It looks like Apple had to give in and Qualcomm won that patent war.

@jwildeboer I am rather fluent, so what do you want to know?

@ohyran Discussing politics online or at work has a very great potential for unhappiness.

@emacsen LanguageTool has been completely free and is now freemium. Plus, it has way better results than Grammarly. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LanguageTool

@emacsen Grammerly has many false positives and its grammar check gives me less advice than LanguageTool. As a bonus LanguageTool works well with bilingual text.

@emacsen BTW I found that Emacs integration of LanguageTool was not that great when I tried last time.

@emacsen I would never do email, but file and calendar serving with Nextcloud works great. If you have less than 5 people even video chat works great with it.

@ohyran What is the point about this? I've read that they want to create a common app framework which I suppose is wrong, too?

@ohyran From my users perspective the degree of interoperability between KDE SC and pure Gnome apps is great. It is only those apps that use gtk in weirder ways that feel alien in my Plasma desktop.

@jwildeboer The person that wrote the article has very likely no connection to the news sites management team that is responsible for said trackers.

@jwildeboer That is the thing with journalists they have to point out problems even when their employer or someone else is guilty of the same thing. Why should the company behind follow everythink an employee suggests? Is that a possible double standard? Yes, but that is inherent in for profit news. The alternative would be having no such pieces on there.

@ohyran @faho We have had a lot of reform in many places and people started to view things differently and now we live in the time of reaction, but since most of those people will die over the next 20 years, there may be an opportunity for a general "Du" in Germany as well.

@ohyran Travelling only *within* Germany is complex enough and has exactly the problems you mentioned, but fortunately after letting the public train company die, it seems that there is finally the will and political power to save it.

@jwildeboer I guess Sanders will continue to fight until he has damaged the other candidate from his party enough to help Trump. Just like the last time.

@nextcloud reliable self updates. Right now there is a big chance I have to fix things after the update manually.

@BrodieOnLinux Controversy creates clicks? While it is possible to discuss mistakes and errors in contributing to open source projects publicly this way, it does not seem wise.
