@stux ok so back in the late 70s, all the Big Boys (16+) in town would ride a Zündapp or a Kreidler. The not quite so Big Boys (also 16+ but usually not farm kids) would get a Puch Maxi (didnt look as much as a TT racing bike as a Florett or a KS ... poor buggers). And all of them would invest in tuning (basically a larger carburetor) and in special Japanese made "racing exhaust pipes" ... basically a selective amplifier for the high frequency part of the two stroke noise emission spectrum ...

@foone so ... uh ... and I realise this could ve a bit of a a sensitive topic, and rest assured I'm not trying to do any harm, but I'm genuinely curious as to what sort of unemployment benefits / social services are available over where you are ? Is there govt support for ppl with no job?

@stux my thinking here is "please fedi, do not be naive." There is a good chance that you as fedi server admins/mods wont get much to say anymore once Mera has joined with an army of admins/mods/server clusters, a github repo of shit marketed as "improvements", new crap such as "integrated monetization management tools" etc.You havent convinced me yet that this isnt a move by a sheep in wolves clothes. This reeks of a friendly dressed hostile takeover. Meta is not Mother Theresa.

@stux @jan look we've seen the enormous architectural chaos that was Twitter with the half million of micro services. This was spin up by the same guy. Expect the same sort of fundamental "decisions" (mistakes).
