@hackaday I'm assuming that those keys are user-programmable. It's an awful lot of keys.

@hackaday The rest would be posers while the real hackers would be hidden way and communicating over encrypted networks

@hackaday I've wondered if things like this would be useful for indoor gardening. That is, using a series of pan-and-tilt mirrors to take sunlight outside the building and redirect and focus it in specific ways on indoor plants.

@froregade I've never been one for astrology. Life is short. Relax and go at your own pace.

@Gargron Looks vaguely like the Soundcloud interface. Having a baked-in Mastodon audio UI would be nice. It would be interesting if it could also be embedded in other services like Friendica, etc (full disclosure: I'm posting from a Friendica instance. I admit my greed!)

@froregade I don't understand. Are we talking traditional offset printing? Inkjet? Giclee (archival Inkjet)? Laserjet?

@froregade Well, just as an example, when dealing with a print shop, it's possible to basically just stand there by the machines and have the crew do test runs until the colors are right. With, say, office laserjets or home inkjets things can get tricky. I'm not sure how things would work out at some place like a FedEx copy and print location.

@pfefferle @pfefferleHow does that work? Is it somehow federating through Wordpress' XML or PHP API or is there a plugin to introduce compatibility?

@dredmorbius @switchingsocial @dredmorbiusFor a general subject would it be something like "! archive <subject>"?

@fitheach Maybe it was naive of me, but I never thought the BBC would get into the data-collection business. I thought they had some charter with the British government that made them a public service entity.

@fitheach Yeah, some of the IT people at work are saying the same thing. "Neat that we have the tech for this, but no way is that going into my home."The XKCD comic regarding Alex seems relevant here:xkcd.com/1807/

@fitheach That's changing a bit. I can't remember which news org did it, but they basically got a hold of recordings that Alexa made of people when they weren't aware and played those recordings to the users. Naturally, the users were a bit shocked. I'll try to find the link.

@fitheach I think this is the article:www.theatlantic.com/technology…...each of these companies failed to tell users they had a hot mic on their wrists or in their living rooms.

@switchingsocial @BartG95 @Matomo What about Google's other services like the Captcha system? I don't track anything on my site (my host might) but I do use Google's Captcha for my contact form.

@rob @switchingsocial I use Feeder from the F-Droid app, if that helps. It's served my needs to the point where I am deleting a lot of posts so I don't have to work as hard to catch up on articles. To be fair, that might be just a natural function of RSS feeds, though.

@malenkov Quite haunting. I suspect everyone has a different interpretation of the image, though.
