@randynose The Beat are my 2nd favorite band of all time. The Clash are my 1st and they were punk but reggae inspired so I guess I dig it.

@kelbot Scott Nearing advised to pay as you go. That's what we did. After 20 years, our house still isn't finished.

@freemo My take is that if you're supporting google, you're supporting hate. Maybe they should shut themselves down.

@kelbot In this specific case, I'm using a 7 inch capacitive touch screen intended for the RPI. Planning to use 18650 batteries but might be able to use something bigger. Haven't gotten that far yet. I'm mostly interested in what others are using to charge the batteries and then power the RPI from them. There are so many options available.

@ericbuijs @randynose Didn't he also try to electrocute a convict with a death sentence?

@ericbuijs @randynose Also, Edison didn't really invent many of the patents to which he's credited. He paid others to do the work, bought ideas, stoles ideas and also just tried stuff until something worked. The proverbial throw shit on the wall and see what sticks. Tesla couldn't deal with that approach because he thought every invention through.

@ericbuijs @randynose I need to look it up but, as I remember, he was going to execute a convict with AC as a public demonstration to show the dangers of AC.

@ericbuijs @randynose Actually, Edison employed a man named Brown who did all the killing. He electrocuted countless dogs, a horse, assisted a park in killing an elephant and the state of New York in killing a convict. While Brown did all the work, procuring Westinghouse equipment and testing, it later came out that Edison was footing the bill and providing the space. This furthers the notion that he did little real work himself and employed underlings.

So, I've been advised to get off all social media by legal counsel. This is the only place one could say I'm on that is social media. It's beautiful that when I delete it, it's all instantly gone, not harbored on a server somewhere forever. I don't want to get into it. I may return when the dust settles.
