@WashedOutGundamPilot yeah up to the individual of course, but i think men need some dose of reality too. if you really want a woman who falls in the top 20% of the population in terms of looks alone, you need to be in the top 5% of men. i'm no casanova but i at least recognize what i'm not bringing to the table.

Basically, we are flawed, will fail to live up to Christ, will struggle to not fall to our base instincts, etc, and nothing is going to save us from that in this life. There is no magic trick to making humans not fail God. It's in our DNA. He loves us so much that he forgives us for it. I don't think humans failing Him makes the Word untrue. If you think the earthly church isn't supposed to be a human institution, I would argue the Church as "Christ's bride" is a distinct metaphysical concept from the actual temples on the ground with its priests, which is a human institution. Consider looking into Dostoevsky's idea of Christianity = anarchy as well for a different POV.

This would be preferable to the current situation, but isn't happening any time soon. So the best course of action for political dissidents is to take over the GOP, which is a weaker "outer party" with an aging and philosophically hollow core of decision makers.
