Unfortunately I think the „remote work“ and „work from home“ culture contributed a lot to it. In general, it is not a bad thing. I recently had a conversation about this with an East European co-worker.She argued that she does not understand why immigrants want to go to East Europe when Germany is a much wealthier country.I disagreed. Sure, Germans can afford the latest iPhone more easily, but when I’m in Romania, Poland, or Croatia, I see high-speed internet, a working infrastructure, and people owning 1-2 properties.These are things people in Germany dream of.
