@Yoshi I think my favorite part is it was just one guy messing around and stumbling into a good solution.Eventually I’m going to have to mess with the horror that is KTX2 though, apparently, if I want my (currently purely concept) game engine to be fast. *cries*

Spoiler alert: If you ask the Rust global allocator to give you 140.7 TB of RAM... it isn't happy.

@mk The problem is... I have 16 GB of RAM on this system, and I apparently asked Windows for ~140 TB... instead of the 10 I actually wanted. I think there's a bad cast in here *somewhere* but honestly I've yet to figure out how the hell that happened? Everything in my code is usize -- AKA unsigned 64 bit int on this system. And the C API uses size_t, which last I checked means the same thing. (And the docs corroborate that.)

@mk It would be... If I wasn't trying to write a dynamically linked library (in Rust) to act as a sorta uberglobal allocator for other libraries to share the same allocation pool so I can effectively (manually) transfer ownership semantics across a C API.I'm 100% sure this is a bad idea at this point but it won't stop me from trying.

The Better Minecraft mod (and several others) have been injected with a Trojan. These mods were uploaded to Curseforge, DevBukkit, and potentially Modrinth. https://youtu.be/BH925m0QKdsPlease boost for visibility!

Thank goodness... Just finished scanning Curseforge, MultiMC, Prism Launcher, vanilla, and my downloads folder. I don't have any stage0 jars on my system.

@cat8124 @Houl Jetbrains Mono is owned by Jetbrains so Operator Mono should count. =P Especially when it’s only 5 minutes of DuckDuckGo search away.

I hate when I park my car entirely out of the way, toooons of spaces in the area… and some douchebag parks his lifted truck literally next to me. Why.

If you’re for some reason happy at the loss of life that occurred in the Titan Submersible, you can just fuck off. Dehumanizing people makes you just as bad as they are. Rise above that shit if you expect anything to be done for the betterment of the world. It’s literally the same thing as profiling on race, or gender, or sexuality.I take comfort myself that at least they did not suffer, and I feel bad for their families. Cuz ya know. They were human.

@mario By what I’ve been able to find, in the bit of digging I found, all were at least attached to ocean research/conservation in some respect. https://people.com/missing-titanic-submarine-all-about-the-passengers-7550485 It may have been a bit of a joyride to see the Titanic, may have cost more than I’ll make in my life, and they may be rich assholes even, I don’t know… but they had families, lives, etc. The latter part is the main point I’m trying to make with the opening post.

@vertigo @wolf480pl You can also use the patch section of Cargo.toml to override that crate for all dependancies, including transitive, to ensure your changes are made across them all. Very useful if you’re trying to test changes to a library you’re intending to contribute to.
