Maybe another way of framing it:I suspect Twitter will quickly be turning into the social media version of a burnt out conference vendor hall.Just a bunch of snake-oil vendors all trying to sell to each other.Every one of them convinced they are surrounded by wealthy imbeciles with more dollars than sense -- every one of them selling a gimmick to the facade of a customer who has no intention of buying anything.

Wow -- y'all should have seen me running around the house this morning looking for my YubiKey.I have a YubiKey on a Bluetooth tile for moments where I lose it. I was able to get the key ringing, but could NOT determine where it was coming from.I was running around my office, the living room, and even different floors of the house searching for the ringing that never seemed to change in volume except when I turned around!My YubiKey was in my butt pocket. I was chasing my tail. Happy Monday.

Gripe about #Rust Its very difficult to go from a synchronous project to an async project.Introducing a single dependency that exposes async public members is pretty much guaranteed to make you refactor your entire project to be async... all the way up the stack to the main function. This includes re imagining polymorphism in your project because you can forget about async traits.

@nivenly I understand a lot of folks are likely confused, and are wondering why?I made the decision a few hours ago.The main reason for this is to hand the server off to the collective to manage instead of me. There is an entire moderation team, and an infrastructure team in charge now and have been in place for months.I have never represented the thoughts and opinions of the users, however the "Admin" title seems to carry a connotation with it. I want to remove that link.

While I certainly understand the behavior of the fediverse, I also am choosing to remove myself to protect my mental health.I think a little more communication across instances would go a long way.
