@BrodieOnLinux Had my «OBS no worky on Wayland» yesterday. Humble RTFM saved the day, just needed to set PipeWire up. Now OBS is totally worky on Wayland.

@BrodieOnLinux Scrolling WMs / scripts have taught me one interesting thing. I don't like dynamic tilers because of dynamic tiling really. I just don't like dealing with horizontal limitations of my screen and want tiler to deal with that for me.I swapped Pop Shell for PaperWM a short while after your first video about Niri. Decision was so good, I have migrated to Plasma only after thoroughly checking that Karousel, — KWin's scrolling script, — worked well and the way I want. Daily driving it now, enjoying all the horizontal space Plasma can handle.

Я ненавиджу рекламоцентричний, комерційний Інтернет та його наслідки. І дуже недолюблюю Твітч.Ця платформа має властивість переривати потік на рекламу для непреміумних користувачів. Але власне реклами я там не бачив ніколи, ні через сторонні вебморди, ні через програвач, ні навіть на офіційній вебморді. Замість цього, я бачу лише напис про рекламну перерву, що триває, та зворотній відлік до наступної рекламної стрічки.Коли весь рекламний блок завершується, поведінка відрізняється залежно від джерела перегляду. На Safetwitch, потік продовжується. У відеопереглядачі, потік зависає і вимагає перепідтягування потоку з посилання, рахуй додатково секунд 10, додатковий рух кнопками, та потребу нянчити переглядач.Твітч можна надурити, і всю тривалість блоку перепідтягувати трансляцію. Реклама все одно з'являтиметься, але щоразу буде вікно на кілька секунд аби побачити основний потік. Метод геть ідіотський, вимагає від мене воювати з платформою за право не дивитися на порожній рекламний блок.Частота реклами відрізняється від каналу до каналу. Є творці, котрі виставляють рекламу якомога рідше. А є творці, у котрих реклама програється кожні кільканадцять хвилин. Нескладно здогадатися, з останніми досвід просто срака. Особливо погано, коли творці показують сюжетні ігри — тоді реклама розриває часто сюжетновагомі частини й викрадає близько трьох хвилин контексту. Окремо надсилаю промені добра творцям, що стежать за рекламними блоками, що насувають, та призупиняють активну гру на цей проміжок.Врешті решт, кінцевий досвід це Твітч, котрий з рівними інтервалами перериває перегляд хвилини на три, аби показати ґрадієнт в отруйнопурпурових тонах, і котрий виагає перезапускати потік коли, блок завершується.Я так і не бачу жодного продукту чи послуги, рекламодавці не отримують для себе потенційного клієнта, творцям від того не крапає. Твітч просто руйнує досвід на рівному місці.

@BrodieOnLinux Ever since switching to Plasma, I started developing this «Plasma feels old» thing. The more I thought about it, the less this feeling shifted away from initial form. I would not say it feels «old» now, or god forbid «outdated», I would say it feels «faithful». There is no pulpable criteria to judge by, but general feel of the environment, it's collective design choices, reminds me a lot of that of Windows 7 back when it was still a thing on my computer. Plasma feels like something that set on a good design for desktop computing and kept developing it further, instead of driving into whatever that ditch of Windows 8 / 8.1 was.Never mentioned it being bad. It is good, in fact. Plasma sure does not look or feel like mass-market behemoths do nowadays. But it does feel correct. Plasma feels like a correct way to interract with complicated and ridiculously feature-rich machines that are modern computers.

I fear the sound.It's a rising night, an hour off from reaching twelve. Laptop is almost discharged, it's been three and-a-something hours into tonight's blackout. Will the power be back soon? I am certain. Whatever power grid technicians do, they seem to recover the grid reasonably quick nowadays.Stay calm for now. Not much else to do at the moment.It's a buzzing outside, faint yet distinctive even through the highs of cheap headset. Volume down, earpiece off the ear. The buzz is unignorable, higher-pitched, getting louder. It approaches. Stuff away, get up, listen carefully. The buzz is pitching down. Flew past and away. Is it over for now? I am unsure. Impossible to check danger status at the moment. Need to do that the moment I can.Guards down for now. No more music until power is back.It's a power, back again. Things charge up again. The router is powered. Check the status. Alarm is on, indeed, and a flock of russian drones has been observed south from here, heading north. Will it reach the skies above me? I am unanswered. Not a question worth asking, nor answering. Always possible.All ears for now. Unignorable.It's distant buzzing far away, again. There they are. First one of a hellish flock.
