But…Beijing might lean on Musk to block handles. If Musk agrees (not least because his other business interests are on the line), the anti-Twitter sentiment will only strengthen.

Very few choices of email client on #linux. The only modern option is #Mailspring, but even that is not a smooth user experience. #Thunderbird and #Evolution work but the user interface is very dated. Ditto #Calendar. #GNOME and #Morgen are the only options…and the latter is not #FOSS. Frustrating.

I’m amused (and irritated) by half-assed ‘ideologies’ and ‘philosophies’ coming out of Silicon Valley. Effective accelerationism, it seems! No reflection, self-doubt and skepticism. Marketing and PR departments who previously used to dish out tech industry hype have now been asked to promote ‘philosophy’ and ‘ideology’. How did this terrible elevator control panel make it out of engineering design? How was it ever permitted to be installed? Forget braille & tactile buttons, it is hard to know whether a button press has been registered even in its limited use case.
